The 25/25 rule and its exceptions
The standard conversion is to drop the temperature by 25°F (about 15°C) and cut the time by around 20%, because an air fryer is a small convection oven with air moving fast enough to cook the surface much more aggressively. It works well for anything you want crisp. It works badly for cakes and delicate baked goods, where the moving air sets the top before the centre has risen — for those, drop the temperature further and check earlier.
Check early, always
Air fryer wattage varies by more than 50% between models, and basket size changes airflow. Any conversion is a starting point: check at 70% of the converted time the first time you make something, and write the real number on the recipe.
